International Union of Agricultural Workers: Health & Safety Capacity building, particularly for Pesticides
WELCOME  from Omara

to
Online Health & Safety Support

We wish to impove the health and safety capacity of IUF affiliates to help reduce risks for our members.

We will do this by using health and safety qualifications developed by UK farmworkers working iwth farmers and the Health & Safety Executive. More.

These help us determine who should do what - managers (4) should manage, supervisors/union reps (3) put policies into practice, and supervised workers(2) follow proper procedures.

These qualification are offered by City & Guilds level 2 & 3

We have use of online learning materials for level 2 - built to international SCORM standards.

We will use more online support material to check conditions against the ILO convention standards, as spelt out in the Ethical Base Code, which many retailers work to. Go to materials

For pesticides we are going to use these different levels to work out who does what for pesticicdes - national officers (4), workplace reps (3) and most members (2). We will use the standards laid by GlobalGAP, Go to Pesticide Programme
