The Constitution prohibits discrimination based on race, tribe, place of origin or residence or other local connection, political opinions, colour, creed or sex.

The law prohibits employers from intimidating workers. Employees wrongfully dismissed for union activities can take their cases to the Industrial Court.

This means that:

There should be no discrimination between people in:

- hiring, payment, promotion, training, termination.

Whether based on:

- gender, pregnancy or parenthood, race, national origin, class, caste, age, disability, political affiliation, union membership, or sexual orientation.

All workers should receive the same payment for doing the same job.
